How To Register An Msi Without Invoice

  1. I am asking on behalf of a friend, he had an MSI Gaming X 1080 bought equally a gift and he has not got the original receipt, it was non a purchase from Overclockers as far as I am enlightened.

Has anyone had any good or bad experience with trying to returning a graphics card direct to MSI without the invoice?

The warranty stickers are still intact and of form, the carte cannot be over 3 years former due to card been on the market for less than 3 years.

Pretty desperate for some help and communication, please.

  2. from what i understand MSI will practice warranty from appointment of manufacture if receipt is not present but i cant be 100% sure, its best to fire email off to them to make sure.

I know Gigabyte and ASUS permit warranty without receipt from engagement of manufacture and EVGA practice a warranty transfer to new customer if yous take some kind of proof of purchase even if yous bought the carte du jour second hand its fine, they volition honour a transfer of warranty from the date of manufacture.

MSI i also practise this but not 100% sure considering i have not personally asked them in electronic mail.

this is someone else experience with MSI warranty

  3. Last two times I RMAd with MSI they demanded the receipt.

First time was a GPU that was out of stock with the retailer (and I wanted it replaced, not a unlike model etc) and 2d time was a mobo, aforementioned story. IDK how much luck you will take, equally they don't like dealing with the public. In fairness though the contract is betwixt you and your retailer, not them.

  4. Just go a copy of the order receipt. Easy enough, unless the person who bought the souvenir has left the planet, or the "gift" was something less than legal.
  5. It was gifted by a relative, who sadly is no longer around..
  6. I kinda got that impression subsequently I posted. Apologies if I came beyond as crass.
  7. Shame information technology is a MSI carte not Gigabyte, otherwise Gigabyte would have sort the warranty via series number based on the date of the card left the mill.

We fifty-fifty have a Gigabyte rep Gigaman often browsing through this part of forum and offer help and support for customers of their products.

  8. Based on the story and the loss of a loved 1 I'd approach MSI with the facts as you lot wrote them, Information technology'due south definitely inside the warranty period due to how long ago these cards came to market and it has all the security sticker intact as it hasn't been tampered with, Personally I'd find a forum with an MSI rep or their ain forum and then you can first a thread on the problem and highlight the situation so they know others are watching and waiting to meet how they respond. Personally I remember the facts as we know them should exist enough to go some sort of positive response, it all depends on what their customer service is like, just make certain to brand it public on a forum MSI visits, (It's a shame there isn't one here).
  9. If possible a depository financial institution statement proving at that place was a purchase is minimum requirement for warranty claim, you lot wouldn't need a receipt, but under the circumstances is a tough ask.

Yous could too try approaching pos and ask them to provide a copy of the receipt for warranty reasons.

  10. Why don't you just ask MSI directly?? You lot're going to accept to contact them to initiate the RMA process anyhow aren't you? On the basis that someone on this forum did say it's fine and they've done it before, what were you gonna do, merely transport information technology in to them with absolutely no context or RMA number or reason why you lot're sending it?
  11. just tell them it was a souvenir and you dont have receipt, they volition well-nigh likely take and crave you lot to pay for commitment both to and from them. Burn down an e-mail
  12. Think they are inside their rights and tell you gifts aren't covered under warranty, it's the original owner that's covered, best check though.
  13. Thanks all for your replies, MSI take just replied, they said yes , no trouble, you just need to return the card to us at your ain cost, looks to be a polish accost, I estimate information technology volition toll about £twenty ish to send information technology tracked, just waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ameliorate than a expressionless card.
  14. I got hither as well belatedly only was going to say you shouldn't need the invoice with MSI. I had conformation of this last year with a RX 480.
  15. Smashing news, go along united states upwards to date with your repair/replacement. It'south prissy to hear good feedback and definitely sways me with the choice of manufacturer.
  16. Will practice, information technology is my friend who will be sending it dorsum, dorsum he no doubts will keep me updated.
  17. Just a quick update, RMA details take been recieved, the bill of fare has to exist returned at my friends expense ( which is just fine) information technology has to go to Poland for RMA, he has packaged it up and it volition exist going via a 3 - 5 twenty-four hours tracked and signed for service at a cost of £17.90 sadly this only insures for up to £250, as to fully insure the card the cost heaven rocketed to over £threescore !!!
  18. The important thing is it can be returned.
  19. Agreed , the card arrived with MSI in Poland a few days agone, hopefully information technology volition be fixed and on its style back shortly .
  20. Great to hear that this worked out for you lot.
